For you · Adults who stutter
You’ve been managing your stutter your whole life.
This isn’t here to fix you.
Calm Speech is a daily companion for adults who stutter and stammer — built around confidence and effort, not a treatment programme chasing fluency. It won’t score how you sound. It sits alongside your day and helps you keep showing up.

We see you
The calls you plan an hour around. The word you swapped at the last second because you knew the other one was coming. The meeting you braced for on the walk in, and the tiredness afterwards that nobody else can see.
Covert stuttering is work. So is speaking anxiety, phone anxiety, and the constant background maths of avoidance and substitution. Most of that effort goes unnoticed — including, often, by you.
None of that means your stutter is the problem. It means you’ve been carrying something on your own. Calm Speech is built to notice the carrying.
What makes Calm Speech different
We’re not competing for the treatment vocabulary. We deliberately don’t use it.
Non-clinical. Stutter-affirming. Not about fluency.
How it helps, day to day
Four things the app actually does, mapped to the moments they’re for.
A daily effort check-in
One small thing, chosen for the day you’re actually having. Tick it off and that’s the whole measurement. Nothing asks how it sounded.
Gentle practice you control
Breathing, pacing, easy onset, prolonged speech, reading. Six sessions each, self-paced. You pick what helps; nothing is prescribed or assigned.
A private space to reflect
Speak it or write it. A prompt a day about a real speaking situation, kept to yourself. Stammering on the phone, a date, a presentation — all of it counts.
Progress you actually feel
Days of showing up, sessions you chose, moments you reflected on. No fluency percentage, because a percentage was never the point.
On tracking effort, not fluency
The one decision everything else follows from.
Effort is what you put in: opening the app, doing the small thing, choosing a session, writing a line about a hard call. It’s all recorded. None of it is graded.
A fluency score turns speaking into a test you can fail. Fail it a few times and you speak less, avoid more, and feel worse — which is the opposite of what support is for. Effort is the part you control, on a good day and a bad one, and it’s the part that predicts whether you keep going.
This is also where the app lines up with modern stutter-affirming thinking: the goal isn’t fewer blocks, it’s a life you don’t have to speak around.
