For you · Parents

You want to help. Not to add pressure.

Calm Speech gives a teenager or young adult who stutters a private space of their own — one built on acceptance rather than correction. Built for older teens and adults, not young children.

The fear of saying the wrong thing

Most parents we speak to are carrying the same two worries at once: that doing nothing looks like not caring, and that doing something looks like saying “you need fixing”.

Both worries are reasonable. Adolescence is when many people who stammer start noticing other people noticing, and it is also when unsolicited help lands hardest. What helps most at that age is usually something they control, not something handed to them with expectations attached.

How Calm Speech helps

Private and theirs

Reflections and recordings are theirs alone. No parent dashboard, no reports, nothing shared back to you.

Acceptance over correction

Nothing in the app says their speech needs fixing, and nothing congratulates them for sounding more fluent.

No pressure, no streak guilt

Two minutes counts. Missing a week costs nothing. Reminders are off by default.

Questions

What age is it for?

Adults and older teens, roughly 15 and up. If your child is younger, an SLP with early-intervention experience is the better first step.

Should I use it with them, or leave it to them?

Leave it to them. Offer it once, tell them it’s private, and let them decide. The privacy is most of the value.

Does it try to fix their stutter?

No. There is no fluency score and no cure framing anywhere in the product.

Will I be able to see their progress?

No. Nothing is shared with parents, by design.

What should I say when they stammer?

Wait, keep eye contact, and let them finish. Don’t finish the word for them. Our resources go into this properly.
